Hammock
Create a comfortable niche in your pool area with a hammock. Choose from nearly endless fabric colors or patterns, and you can add a pillow or blanket for the ultimate nap zone. Hammock chairs create a similar aesthetic, but they are easier to get in and out of.
Potted Plants
Decorate pots with jewels, lace, fabric or paint, or you can buy pots that coordinate with your outdoor decor. Add some soil and your favorite greenery and your backyard will say, “thank you!”
Outdoor Rug
Go as bold or as neutral as you want, but your outdoor space isn’t complete until you add the perfect rug. This helps define an outdoor living area near your pool. Use another one to identify the dining area.
Lighting
It can be as simple as a string of lights or quirky outdoor fixtures that you put up in your backyard, but lighting is essential to create the ultimate backyard living space. It also helps make your space usable well after dark, which means the party only ends when you say it does (not when the sun goes down).
Shade
Soaking in the sun is a great source of Vitamin D, but too much sun is uncomfortable. Add some shade with an umbrella or a shade sail! They’re durable, UV-blocking, and very affordable.
Storage
Choose items that are great for entertaining guests, but also open up for extra storage. For example, an outdoor table with storage underneath gives you a surface for drinks and food, plus a place to stow pool items when they’re not in use.
